Hi Campers! Welcome to the Shaolin Warrior Youth Camp & Culture experience at the LIU Shaolin Institute!
Different from most summer resident camps, you’ll be attending training and cultural classes.
Each week we will be offering special activities that will reflect the camp theme,
such as Kung Fu Panda, Tiger and Dragon, bouncing breathing, field trips, KungFu training and forms, oriental cooking projects,
guest speakers and presentations that will include a whole lot hands on fun!

Day Camp
The summer day camp welcomes both youth and teens. Each week we shall focus on different themes: such as Kungfu Panda, Kung Fu Monkey, Tiger and Dragon. Camp students will be divided into three major groups:
Group 1, 5-7 years old; Group 2, 8-11 years old; Group3,12-17 years old

TRAINING CAMP MISSION: We train students within the Shaolin philosophy and principle to be able to meet internal and external life challenges, to be empowered to overcome any life obstacles and be a person of great character, one with high discipline and great confidence, ready to pave their way to the future.
As Shi DeRu has expressed: “Life is not easy. To be a champion in life is even more challenging. Shaolin training here is only for those who are willing to face their fears and have the courage to rise above them.”
CAMP SCHEDULE:
All camps start June 4th 2012.
Early Registration starts April 1st, 2012.
TRAINING OPTIONS:
Shaolin Warrior Youth Resident Camp Package: 6-8 weeks, full-time, on-site attendance (limited room provided). Eight Week Option Includes Oriental Dream, US/China Cultural Exchange Ambassadors Program, travelling to China and training at the Shaolin Temple. Each Student will be able to train directly with the two original Shaolin Temple Family Grand Masters: ShiDeRu and Shi DeYang. Oriental Dream participation is aoptional. Students may also choose to attend Resident Camp on week to week basis. (Info & registration link).

Celebrate Tai Chi-Qi Gong Day Globally to Benefit Health Conscious People Locally
In celebration of World Tai Chi and Qi Gong Healing Day, Shaolin Institute gives local health conscious community members from young adults to more matured baby boomers a two-hour class and presentation along with healthy food for free.
Shaolin Institute will offer a two-hour Tai Chi &Tai Gong special class plus healthy food to the local health conscious community who are eager to help themselves to change their lifestyle for a healthier living. The event will be held at 9:30 AM-11:30 PM on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at Norcross Pinckneyville Park by the Family Pavilion Lawn in Norcross, GA. about 20 miles from downtown of Atlanta.

The Master Speaks
Kungfu practice is not an extra curriculum in life; neither is it a pastime event, but the most serious path in life. Kungfu is a way of Chan, using meditation to recover our true-self and outgrow our ego.
Kungfu, when viewed as an extra curriculum, is often perceived as little more than some kicks and strikes; however, that view precisely misses the point. Kungfu is a way of Chan in practice, a step-by-step body and mind experience, along with a complete change of the accustomed lifestyle.
Kungfu is Chan practice in reality, like “boiling oil over a blazing fire”. If we wish to travel in a Kungfu life, to have enlightenment in Chan, we must go through scorching experience before the truth of Kungfu Chan smiles upon us.

WuBin, Grandmaster of Modern Kung Fu-Wushu from Beijing joins DeRu Shawn Liu, 31st generation descendant of the Shaolin Temple, Grandmaster of this over 1500-year old ancient Shaolin Kung Fu & Zen for a health & cultural Kung Fu seminar tour in the US. World Kungfu champion masters Li Qiang & Chen Zhe will demonstrate and assist the teachings. This is the first time for the two fathers’ joint teaching venture together in the US to promote oriental cultural and oriental natural living and healing arts.
